Mediation is becoming a popular way of settling disputes although this has been due in part to some arm twisting by senior Judges who see mediation as a way of resolving disputes much more cheaply than protracted court hearings. Virtually any type of dispute can be resolved by mediation, although there will always be some cases where the parties prefer, for various good reasons to have the dispute resolved by a judge in court.
